Local traders participated in the second annual UK Small Business Saturday on 6 December by hosting live entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy whilst shopping in the Brentwood Town Centre.
Small Business Saturday is part of a national campaign to support, inspire and promote small business. The Brentwood Borough Renaissance Group provided funding to local trade clusters to host events to increase the number of visitors on #SmallBizSatUK.
On Crown Street, shoppers were treated to live entertainment from two local singers, Dan Sharp and Mabel Rogers. Balloon modeller, Happy Hobbits, made giveaways for children, whilst the Crown Street Café provided free nibbles for passersby.
Ongar Road hosted a walkabout from ‘Ariel’ from The Little Mermaid, and children’s book character, Horrid Henry. Visitors also received free promotional balloons.
Keeping with the family-friendly theme, Piccola Toyshop on the Brentwood High Street brought in Princesses Elsa and Anna to lead local children in a sing-along version of Frozen. Littles ones were also treated to free face painting.
