Three Brentwood children have won prizes after finding out they were winners of a Santa Hunt competition.
They were presented with their prizes at the Chicken and Frog bookshop in Ongar Road by the Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Mark Reed on Saturday 9 January.
Participants had to find the hidden Santas in 16 shops and businesses in Brentwood. Each Santa had a letter, which spelled out the phrase Sleigh Bells Ring, which they had to guess correctly to enter the prize draw.
The winner was Alex Thompson, aged 7. The two runners up were Daisy Godfrey, 6, and Summer Martin, 6. They were given a range of prizes from Babyballet, Chicken and Frog Bookshop, Piccola Toy Shop, Keith Ashton and Violet Hill, and their parents were given a bottle of champagne.
The Mayor, Councillor Mark Reed, said:
“It was a pleasure to award the winners and I hope they enjoy their prizes. I would like to thank all the shops that took part in the Santa Hunt event and it was a good community event in the run up to Christmas.
I’d also like to give a special thanks to the Chicken and Frog for encouraging the children to take part and for organising the event with the Council.”
Natasha Radford, from the Chicken and Frog bookshop, said:
“We love running community events, especially when they are such good family friendly fun! It’s great to involve lots of local businesses and give the people of Brentwood something exciting to do!”
