Boosting tourism and supporting our business community are the aims behind Brentwood Borough Council’s new website ‘Discover Brentwood’ that was launched at the Brentwood Business Showcase event on Wednesday 2nd November.
The Leader of Brentwood Borough Council, Councillor Louise McKinlay, said:
“The value of tourism to Brentwood is £160 million according to Visit Essex and as impressive as that figure is – any extra tourism we can attract to our Borough will directly benefit our hotels, attractions, parks, retailers and restaurants.
“But the Discover Brentwood website isn’t just for people who are looking to visit – it is also there for residents who want to see ‘What’s On’, find out about the history and heritage of the Borough or the best places to go as a family.
“Not forgetting our business community – the dedicated business section of the website is packed with advice on finding what opportunities are available for training your workforce and apprenticeship schemes along with what business support and funding is available.
“Launching the website is just the start though, next we need to promote it outside of Brentwood, build on its content and we are hoping to hold another tourism event with Visit Essex and our businesses to develop our tourism offer”.
Strategic Tourism Manager at Visit Essex, Lisa Bone, added:
“It is great that the Discover Brentwood website has been launched. Brentwood has such a vast tourism offer from heritage, to outdoor experiences to, of course TOWIE, the website has brought it all together to showcase all that the borough has and to inspire visitors to come to the area.”
